What’s Marriage Got to Do with It (Disability)?
Professor Krystal Cleary conducts her research at the nexus of critical disability studies, media studies, and intersectional feminist and queer theory. Her research focuses on representations and discourses of disability in popular culture with a particular focus on reality television. So what does marriage equality have to do with disability? Come to a screening of the rom-com documentary Patrice: The Movie, which explores how disability and access to resources can influence commitment ceremonies and public expressions of love. Crafts and snacks will be available during the viewing. Please contact Campus Health/The Well for Health Promotion at whp@tulane.edu at least two weeks in advance of the event if you have accessibility needs and need a disability-related accommodation to participate.
