SUMMARY:That’s Not My Sexual History\, That’s My Oeuvre!
DESCRIPTION:Georgi Gardiner is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and GESS (Gender and Sexuality Studies) at Tulane University. She specializes in epistemology\, social philosophy\, meta-philosophy. This includes research in evidence law\, legal proof\, rape accusations\, self-deception\, virtue epistemology\, epistemic value\, and the ethics of belief. Join Dr. Gardiner for a review of language. The lexicon for describing romantic and sexual relationships can feel impoverished\, and many words have unduly negative connotations (“situationship”\, etc.). Playing with words can help! Join us for an activity where we will creatively adapt words from the geology and art worlds to describe love\, sex\, and relationships. This event will help participants expand their romantic lexicon by borrowing evocative terms from other fields. This can help create a more positive\, welcoming\, and useful vocabulary when discussing romance\, intimacy\, and love. Please contact Campus Health/The Well for Health Promotion at whp@tulane.edu at least two weeks in advance of the event if you have accessibility needs and need a disability-related accommodation to participate.

SUMMARY:Are You a Sexpert?
DESCRIPTION:Are You a Sexpert? is a sexual health jeopardy-style game aimed at expanding students’ sexual education beyond what is traditionally taught. This workshop covers five different topics: pleasure\, toy safety\, reproductive rights\, gender and sexuality\, and questions you’re too afraid to ask. Participants will be able to: identify different types of sex toys and body-safe materials and how to wash them; recognize the way bodies experience and feel pleasure; understand their reproductive rights in the current social climate; and recognize how different aspects of gender and sexuality can impact sex. Please contact Campus Health/The Well for Health Promotion at whp@tulane.edu at least two weeks in advance of the event if you have accessibility needs and need a disability-related accommodation to participate.
